Pond Pumps. All of the submersible pumps shown are specially designed for the recirculation of water in garden ponds, to create waterfalls or other water features.
When choosing a water pump for your pond one ofthe primary things to remember is the pumps electrical consumption
A healthy environment for your pond or water garden can only be maintained by ruuning the pump 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a result running costs can be expensive.
Water pumps have huge difference in their electrical usage. Most pumps now have wattage ratings on their packaging, making it easy compare costs: In general twice the wattage means twice the cost to run
Flow v Pressure
Many pumps are designed to pump a lot of water per hour, but when 'head' increases output decreases.
These types of pumps are generally used to supply waterfalls where a large through put is needed, and filtration is not required. Pumps providing high pressure usually have a smaller rated output than a similar size pump providing high flow. However the pumps output doesn’t drop off as quickly as the head increases. These pumps are more suitable for filteration systems and fountain heads.
